Workshops for children

Workshops on cinema by LEGGI E SOGNA! (Read and Dream!), specialized bookshop for children, teenagers and dreamers of all ages.

Riviera International Film Festival was conceived as a festival dedicated to the new generations. In our mission, we had to develop a special focus for children. When children begin to grow up, the characters in the movies and their stories start to play a very important role: cinema becomes an educational moment where children learn positive and negative values, recognizing each other.

Cinema is a fundamental place in the psychological and cultural formation of the child, where he or she can come into contact with characters that can be elected as heroes and can mark his or her growth. For these reasons it is important to give even the youngest children the tools to understand films, to really experience the “magic” of cinema.

That’s why during the festival days we set up, together with the “Leggi e Sogna!” bookshop, workshops in which we teach children about cinema through games and creativity.

The format of our children workshops is simple. Everything starts with some clips of animated films and then moves on to the “making of”, creating a curious leap behind the scenes: a look at how the characters have been drawn and animated. Listening to the soundtracks, watching photos and videos about dubbers and set designers, they can discover a thousand curious facts.

Little by little, the workshop gives  life to playful and creative activities, with various materials, to give life to a character, a background, a gadget or a memory related to the film. In the end, each child will take home the object created in relation with the animation film chosen for the activity.

All the creative workshops will be developed using sustainable, recyclable, ecological, made in Italy and quality materials.
