Erebografia

From May 7th to May 19th

Exhibition

Sestri Levante City hall - 3 Giacomo Matteotti Square

May 7th - 19th

Photographic exhibition by Silvana Fico. “Erebography” is a neologism that combines the Greek terms “érebo” (darkness) and “grafìa” (writing).

In a series of portraits, the coexistence and interdependence between light and shadow are explored, accepting and celebrating both as fundamental elements of our existence.

The Erebography Vernissage on May 8th at 6:30 PM will be an event engaging artists from diverse fields: painting, music, dance, and acrobatics, converging to produce a singular, remarkable performance.

During the vernissage and exhibition opening, guests will also have the opportunity to experience an introduction to art therapy and sound immersion. The exhibition and event are supported by Anima Produzioni and Green Cinema Collective.

Vernissage and show on Wednesday, May 8th, starting at 6:30 PM.

Biography

My name is Silvana Fico and I’m 27. Growing up, I was always getting my hands dirty with paint and graffiti, thanks to my family and school pushing me to be creative. So, when it came time to pick a high school, choosing one with an artsy vibe was a no-brainer. I got into art through painting, and I still love it today, especially when I can blend it with my photography. Music’s been a big part of my life too, starting with piano as a kid, then moving on to clarinet, and now I’m all about percussion and drums. But photography really stole my heart in recent years. I even turned it into my job! I went to the “Bauer” school in Milan for their “Photography and New Media” course back in 2017/18, and then I did a Filmmaking one in Genoa in 2022. What’s great about making a living from photography is the freedom it gives me. I can work from home, with others, or just wander off and do my thing. It exposes me to all sorts of different worlds and people, which is perfect because I’m all about exploring places and faces. To me, photography’s not just about snapping pics—it’s a personal journey, always pushing me to see things from new angles and dig deeper into the stories behind the images, whether it’s about colors, shapes, or the tales they tell.
